OUR BAKERY


The Italian Bakery is Victoria's first and only Italian bakery. Established in 1978, it has grown from baked goods, gelato and Italian coffee to meals to eat-in-or-go options.  We offer a fine selection of northern Italian pasteries, sweets, cakes, and organic sourdough breads.

The Italian Bakery is a family owned and operated, multi-generational bakery. We pride ourselves in great quality products and a warm family atmosphere where not only staff but also customers feel like they are part of the family. 

Our bread is made with pure and simple ingredients with traditional flavour development through long rises and natural starters. We specialize in delicious Italian and French-style cakes and pastries including wedding cakes and event catering. Whether you are looking for a special occasion or just stopping in for gelato, bread or a croissant, come and let us treat you.

OUR HISTORY


It is often said that diaspora and migration stem largely from courage. It takes a lot of this stuff to move from a place and culture that is comfortable and familiar to a place of the unknown. The onset of such a journey--to venture out into the world-is yoked with uncertainty. And the beginning of the Italian Bakery, really starts here...with courage. But it also begins with adventure and wonder.
